01How much does Kalyvox cost?
The model has two parts:
monthly cost = subscription + actual voice usage
Current Kalyvox plans are:
| Plan | Monthly subscription |
|---|---|
| Solo | $95 |
| Pro | $195 |
| Business | $269 |
Actual conversation time is billed separately. The applicable usage rate remains centralised on the pricing page.
There is therefore no single fixed “price per call”: two businesses handling 100 calls can consume very different amounts when conversations last 45 seconds versus several minutes.
02Estimate your bill in 30 seconds
Use three inputs:
- 1calls you actually expect to send to Kalyvox;
- 2average conversation length;
- 3the plan your team needs.
Calculation example, without assuming a per-minute rate:
100 calls × 3 minutes = 300 conversation minutes
Your estimate becomes:
plan subscription + (300 × applicable usage rate)
If Kalyvox covers only missed or after-hours calls, do not automatically use all inbound traffic. Estimate the share that will actually be forwarded.
03Three coverage models, three different budgets
Overflow only
Your team still answers first. Kalyvox receives only calls that spill over, so usage depends on overflow traffic, not all inbound calls.
After hours
Only calls during evenings, weekends or closures are handled by Kalyvox. Usage follows that coverage window.
Primary answering
Most inbound calls go through Kalyvox. Conversation volume is higher, while more qualification, transfers or bookings can also happen during those calls.
This is why a standalone monthly price is not enough to compare two setups.
04Which metric should you compare?
Two calculations are useful:
cost per handled call = total monthly cost ÷ calls actually handled
and, when missed calls have commercial value:
cost per recovered call = service cost ÷ calls that would otherwise have been missed
Use the second carefully: it requires credible missed-call history, and a recovered call is not necessarily a sale.
05AI, live answering or in-house reception?
| AI answering | Live answering service | In-house reception | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Fixed cost | Subscription | Provider fee | Salary + payroll costs |
| Variable cost | Voice usage | Calls/minutes/options by provider | Limited direct link to volume |
| Coverage | According to setup | Purchased coverage windows | Staff schedule |
| Non-phone work | No | Limited to contracted service | Yes |
| Judgment / complex relationships | Hand off to a person | Human, depending on service | Human strength |
This does not make one model universally cheaper. An employee may perform substantial non-phone work, a live service may include different services, and AI primarily handles the phone workflows assigned to it.
06What actually changes the bill?
Conversation time
This is the main usage driver. A short message does not consume the same time as multi-step qualification and booking.
Share of traffic sent to Kalyvox
Primary answering, overflow and after-hours coverage create very different usage volumes.
Plan
Solo, Pro and Business serve different team and feature requirements. Compare plans on pricing, not only by call count.
Actions and features
SMS, integrations, transfers and other capabilities may depend on plan and configuration. Check what is included in the offer you actually choose.
07Benchmarks for sizing call volume
Our study of 29,742 inbound calls across six sectors provides context:
- 27.1% of calls in the sample were missed;
- 10.3% arrived after hours;
- median duration was 5m49s;
- 54.2% lasted more than five minutes.
These figures do not forecast your bill. They show why call count, forwarding rate and duration need to be estimated separately.
See the methodology in the inbound-call statistics.
08Eight lines to check on any quote
Before comparing Kalyvox, a live answering service or another provider, identify:
- 1fixed subscription or service fee;
- 2billing unit: minute, call, tier or bundle;
- 3any rounding rule;
- 4definition of a billable call;
- 5setup or number-related fees;
- 6evening, weekend and holiday surcharges;
- 7transfer, SMS and integration charges;
- 8overage, commitment and cancellation terms.
That produces a comparable cost instead of putting two headline prices side by side when they cover different things.
09Test with your own traffic
The Kalyvox trial lasts 7 days with no credit card and lets you observe call behaviour and usage before choosing a plan.

10FAQ
How much does Kalyvox cost per month?
Solo is $95/month, Pro $195/month and Business $269/month, plus actual voice usage.
How much does each call cost?
There is no fixed per-call price because usage depends in part on conversation length. Use the usage rate associated with your subscription and your actual duration.
Is AI always cheaper than a live answering service?
No. It depends on volume, coverage, included services and provider pricing. Compare total cost for an equivalent scope.
Which call volume should I use in my estimate?
Use the volume you expect to send to Kalyvox. For overflow-only use, do not automatically include every inbound call.
Is there a long-term contract?
Kalyvox subscriptions are monthly. Current commercial terms are available on the pricing page.
Can I keep my existing number?
Yes. Your public number can remain in place while calls are forwarded to Kalyvox according to your setup.
